DATABASE PURPOSE

Fieldguide makes observations and creates data about U.S. public monuments and memorials – their stories, design, setting, themes and demography. Observations by Fieldguide are abstracted and placed in a database that is available for research and education as well as personal use. Visitors likely have different needs, interests or knowledge; therefore, a user may choose from three available databases – the Abbreviated, Extended or Complete.

Soon, the website will provide data analysis and other features about U.S monument-making. Questions or comments are welcomed.
